The WAVES project combines skill sets of both, academic and enterprise partners to make Scenario-based learning (SBL) more accessible for a wide range of professions. SBL techniques are widely recognised as a key tool in the educational toolkit, for safe training in competency and decision-making. Famulus is aproject funded by the BMBF which explores how to optimze the fostering of diagnostic competence. In both, medical and pedagogical contexts studies are implemented in CASUS and the results will guide the further development.
Instruct is partner of a EC funded Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship, which engages in the improvement of clinical reasoning training in virtual patients. Within the project a concept mapping tool was developed and integrated into the CASUS interface. More information about the project can be found at www.virtualpatients.net
In close cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences in Heilbronn, the University in Heidelberg, and the University in Münster the CASUS system is currently further developed.
In a joint effort new features and technical and didactical improvements are implemented.
VetVIP is a EC-funded eLearning project in veterinary medicine. With didactically designed CASUS virtual patients students are provided access to the most recent research results. The project is a starting point in veterinary medicine to create and share a common pool of knowledge as a central learning platform for students accross countries (Poland, Hungary, Germany).
COSIMA is a group of researchers, which is funded by the dfg. The project aims to explore the diagnostic competence of students (school and university) in simulation-based environments. CASUS provides the platform for the studies and was further developed in video handling.
TheCenter for International Health (CIH) fosters the health promotion in developing countries by strenghtenin eduction and research in the healthcare sector. To reach this aim the CIH focuses on the education and training of ohysicians, educators and researchers. Instruct AG is a partner in the project to establish an e-learning portal which provides digital material that can be combined with face-to-face teaching.

The EC-funded project Virtualpatient-Work.Net aims to foster a global network for web-based training in occupational medicine. The project was initialized by the Institute for Occupational and Environmental Medicine at LMU München to foster the creation and exchange of virtual patients. CASUS is the platform for the virtual patients and Instruct provides the technical infrastructure as well as individual developments for project partners.
