Projects

i-InTIME
i-InTIME is a superordinate institute of medical faculties in the USA and Canada with the purpose of promoting the quality of education through innovative E-learning across universities. The focus of i-In TIME is the creation of CASUS case studies and to provide access to these cases worldwide. The fact that far more than 1000 case studies are used daily by more than 100 faculties shows the positive appreciation received by CASUS throughout.

LMU MUNICH
The University of Munich has been using CASUS at its faculty of medicine since 1993 for the training of its students.

MeCUM
With the "MeCuM" concept, the medical faculty of the LMU Munich is establishing new ways of teaching and learning for students of human medicine. The central integration concept at the MeCUM portal was the first cooperation project with our partner HEISS GmbH, and was completed successfully in April 2009. The project successfully integrated the existing student management system, the learning management platform Moodle, CASUS and a video streaming server through a sophisticated interface management, which it made usable through an account.

ELSEVIER
In cooperation with the renowned scientific publishing house Elsevier, CME-certified case studies are made available online, accompanying publications of medical books. Customers and subscribers of Elsevier have the possibility to work on and solve interactive CASUS cases and to acquire CME points for further training. The number of points acquired is directly transferred to the corresponding point account at the respective medical chamber of the region.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL MEDICINE

  • NETWORM
The EU project "Networm" comprises net-based training for work-related medicine and was initiated by the institute for occupational health and environmental medicine of the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich in order to enhance and disseminate web-based multimedia case studies in the field of work-related medicine. As part of this project, CASUS is used in many European countries. Instruct AG provided the technical infrastructure and specific adaptations for the different project partners.

  • CIHLMU (Center of International Health)
The "Center for International Health" promotes health care in developing countries by supporting education and research in the health sector. In order to achieve its goals effectively, CIHLMU focuses on the training of medical practitioners, university lecturers and researchers. This is yet another project where Instruct AG took a leading role in creating an E-learning potential in order to supplement the training and thus the sensibilization for occupational health and environmental medicine, in parallel with attendance lectures, in an optimal and effective manner.

  • INQA
INQA is a joint initiative of the government, the regions, social partners, social insurance providers, foundations and companies. CASUS is mainly deployed with pupils who are approaching the time when they need to make a choice about their future career. Within the scope of school lessons, the pupils have free access to CASUS cases. The interactive work aims to contribute to the imparting of lasting knowledge regarding the regulations for the protection of young persons at work, work safety measures and occupational health risks, in order to avoid long-term occupational illness and the abandonment of vocational training courses.

MULTIERMEDIA
Multiermedia is a work group promoting the use of new media in veterinary courses. The project involves fundamental research in the field of didactics in veterinary medicine and the implementation of the gathered insights, as well as the preparation of learning programmes and the application of new learning methods. As a new teaching and learning method such as blended teaching or case-oriented learning in veterinary medicine, CASUS is already well-established as a supplement to attendance lectures. Cases are prepared together with students and are successfully used in lessons. There are now almost 200 CASUS cases, which are exchanged in cooperation between:

  • The "VetSuisse" faculty in Zurich
  • KGGA Giessen
  • Veterinary modell studies Berlin
  • Bovine clinic TiHo Hannover

UNIVERSITY OF MÜNSTER
The University of Münster successfully deploys CASUS at its law faculty for the innovative didactic teaching method "learning by teaching".
